About the artist:

Matthew Centeno is an American contemporary artist based in Austin, Texas, celebrated for his playful and vibrant porcelain sculptures that blur the boundaries between illusion and reality.

Best known for his distinctive balloon-inspired creations, Centeno transforms delicate porcelain into seemingly weightless forms, capturing the joy, nostalgia, and innocence of childhood. Through bold colours, glossy finishes, and meticulous craftsmanship, his sculptures explore the contrast between fragility and permanence.

Rooted in personal experience, Centeno's artistic practice celebrates imagination, optimism, and the importance of reconnecting with our inner child. His works invite viewers to rediscover a sense of wonder, transforming everyday symbols of happiness into enduring contemporary artworks.

Gallery OZ is proud to represent Matthew Centeno in Australia, offering collectors the opportunity to discover and acquire his distinctive porcelain sculptures. Combining exceptional craftsmanship with a bold, instantly recognisable aesthetic, Centeno's works make compelling additions to contemporary art collections. Each piece offers a unique balance of playful sophistication and sculptural refinement, appealing to collectors seeking artworks with strong visual identity and lasting artistic relevance.
